Public Forum Today for Weber County Commission Candidates

In a brief sidebar blurb, the Standard-Examiner announces the 2008 general election season's first Weber County League of Women Voters candidate event:
Public Forum today for commission
OGDEN — Candidates for the Weber County Commission have been invited to take part in a public forum at 7 p.m. today at the South Ogden Community Center on 39th Street.
The forum will start with a presentation from the Utah Tax Review Commission on a constitutional amendment that would allow money from the state’s severance tax to be placed in the State Permanent Fund. The issue will appear in the Nov. 4 ballot, according to the League of Women Voters of Weber County, which is organizing the forum.
If all goes well, this evening's event will be the first opportunity for Weber County voters to see Demo challenger Lewis E. Johnson stand toe-to-toe with GOP Commission incumbent Craig Dearden.

We invite any Weber County Forum readers who may attend this event to report back with their impressions of how it all went.
