WSU to Host Ogden Mayoral Debate

With the plethora of debates and candidate forums that have been scheduled this election season, there's no excuse for any conscientious voter to have failed to meet up with Ogden City Election candidates "in the flesh"

For those Ogden voters who still haven't had the chance to catch a pre-election live performance from Ogden City Mayoral candidates Caldwell and Stephenson, we just received word that a convenient daytime debate venue is now on the WSU calender. Here's the story in a nutshell:
OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University students and the public can learn more about Ogden’s mayoral candidates during an hour-long debate Oct. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.

Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society, and the Richard Richards Institute for Politics, Decency and Ethical Conduct are cosponsoring the debate between candidates Mike Caldwell and Brandon Stephenson.

Here's on interesting element to this story.  Only those two mayoral candidates who slogged through the Primary Election Process  (Caldwell and Stephenson) have been invited to this WSU debate.  Assuming that the WSU Political Science Honor Society, and the Richard Richards Institute for Politics, Decency and Ethical Conduct have at least tangentially examined the procedural dynamics of ignoring Mr. Patrick Conlin's "write-in candidacy, "  can the list of "properly invited" mayoral candidates for this debate serve as well-reasoned precedent for excluding late-filing "write-ins" from future debates and candidate forums?  Don't let the cat get your tongues, hehehehe...

We'd also like to make note of an important "something" which Dan Schroeder posted within the last hour on his Facebook news feed:

Dan Schroeder In
related news, Van Hooser formally endorsed Caldwell at an early morning
gathering outside Union Station today. Attendees included John
Patterson, apparently back from Wyoming for a family visit, and Ace
Reporter Schwebke, a few minutes late.

It gets "interestinger and interestinger," dunnit?
