I'd like to personally thank council candidate Bill Glasmann for graciously phoning in these vote tallies through the evening, as they became available. It was a hectic scene tonight at city hall, and we're very grateful for his efforts in this regard.

Onward to November.

Let all freedom loving Ogdenites unite behind Garcia, Glasmann, Jeske and Stevens and take our city back from this evil cabal that has been driving us to the brink of disaster with their unending fantasies of greatness. This rein of arrogance can really end in November if we all come together and throw the bums out.

Thank you, Rudi, for the web page that you provided and for all the work you did to provide the public with our, the candidates', information. It was most helpful for all. You provided a much needed service for our community.

I also want to thank all those who helped put up signs and distributed brochures for me, and told their friends and neighbors about me. I thank all the firemen who helped me also. I couldn't have won as I did without all your help. You have my heartfelt gratitude. And I'm counting on your continued support and help through the general election. I'm going to really need it if we are going to make the change we want on the Council.

Thanks again, everyone! I "Love Ya!"

Swung by City Hall during the talley and saw quite a show. Even the Standard was there.

Moyes was never a factor, and wound up biting the big one, basically self-destructing like it was predicted. Larsen came on at the last moment, barely slipping in, but Doug Stephens really dominated his Ward the entire evening. He'll be tough to beat in the General.

Joprgenson and Glasmann went back and forth all night, with Jorgenson eacking out the Primary win with the late Shadow Valley returns. The other 4 candidates ran very well and garnered many votes. Those votes are left dangling in the air. At this time, a toss-up is the call.

Burdett took awhile to come on, with Jeske holding an early and substantial lead until 2/3 of the way through. Then Burdett's strength came to bare. She'll be a formidable foe.

Jesse Garcia won flat outright, leading wire to wire, with Mosher squeaking out a win on the last District reporting. This should be a good race, but again, I don't see anyone handing Jesse his hat this year. He rules the West side, his own turf if you will..

Politics at its best....grass roots....cordial, ethical, Ogden has a chance to be in some good hands, folks. Keep your eyes and ears open, for these candidates have much to tell us. And remember, if you didn't vote, you don't have much to say this time around, so get out there come General time.

Rudi and Bill--thank you so much for keeping us up to the minute and up to date!! Were you the only ones doing this? I couldn't find local coverage of it anywhere else. How many hits did you get? (Probably a large portion of them were mine.)

That was a great race for everyone and should be even better in November.

I think that the community being involved in local politics is a vital step towards positive progress here. This was a great turnout for a primary. I also hope that those candidates who didn't place this time will continue to be involved, because everybody needs representation, espeically in this particular local government.

Yesterday a re-count of Primary Election votes occured. Seems there was a slip up in Ward #1 and a couple of other places. Nothing changed, except for the vote totals:

Garcia increased 38 to total 195;
Mosher increased 11 to toal 123.

Again, WCforum scoops the Standard!

That's intereting news, anonymous.

If what you say is true, that means Garcia drew almost 50% of the primary vote in his ward, a far better percentage than any other incumbent.

Perhaps he's relatively-immune from the obvious anti-incumbent backlash that's afflicted concil-members Jorgensen, Burdett and Filiaga.

Thanks for the update.

Would you care to reveal your source on this, BTW?
