Hansen Anti-Ticket Quota Bill Passes the House

House Rep. Neil Hansen's anti-Ticket quota HB-255 bill has passed the house and is now on its way to the senate for Senator Greiner and his other senate colleagues to now vote on it. This will be an "acid test" for the good homeboy freshman Senator, we think. The House vote on Rep. Hansen's bill was 38 yes and 35 no, BTW.

House Representative Hansen is the only state-level politician in Northern Utah regularly standing up for the citizens of Emerald City, so far.

If all goes well, Our hard-nosed blue-collar House District 9 rep will be "healing our wonderful city," a year or so from now as our Mayor.

How sweet that will be.

Contact your State Senate legislators now, and demand that Rep Neil Hansen's HB-255 anti ticket quota bill become law in Utah...

"Power to the People...right arm!"

Good for Neil Hansen! Kudos.

It will be veddy in ter esting to see how Sen Griener votes. I understand he doen't like being characterized as being in the mayor's deep pockets. (I think they're deep cuz it seems that many people are also in them.)

But, if Greiner votes NO then how will Godfrey fund the justice court?

Methinks, we must drive very very carefully.

Oh, Let's see...Greiner gives his income from the Senate position to the City....I wonder how he will vote? You'd have to be an idiot to not figure that one out. He is just another one of Godfrey's pawns at the Capitol.

At 5:18 p.m. I sent the following e-mail to Weber County Senator Greiner:
"Please vote for HB 255 Ticket Quota Bill", Thanks, Dorothy E. Littrell.

At 6:34 p.m. Senator Greiner responded:
"You have got to be kidding, do you know who you spammed this request to? Obviously not, there is no way I would ever support it"
with carbon copies to Senator Curtis Bramble and Senator John Valentine.

It is the copies to Bramble and Valentine that are intiguing as the three of them must be in cahoots on this bill.

My response to Senator Greiner:
"This request to support this bill was not a spam. I actualy took the time to look up your address and send you a valid e-mail asking for your vote.
You are supposed to represent all taxpayers in Weber County and I qualify.
I am urging you to actually consider the bill". Dorothy Littrell

Senator Greiner obviously does not want to hear from all his constituents.

I am, I admit, long of tooth and my student protesting days now appear in history textbooks [and not in the last chapter either], but I seem to recall that the chant was "Power to the people... right ON!!" Or is "right arm!" some arcane Utah thing?

"...some arcane Utah thing?"

No. Arcane per UC Berzerkeley, circa 1972... a snarky, fairly well-circulated intellectual retort to mindless gibberish.

Your blogmeister is also long in the tooth.

heheheh.

At 7:47 pm I sent the following to Sen. Greiner:

"After the several ugly divisive months Ogden has experienced over Mayor Godfrey's ticket quota program we urge you to support HB 225.
Conscientious officers will always ticket errant drivers. They have sworn to perform their duty and uphold the law.

Please stand for these brave men and women who lay their lives on the line every day.

Don't turn them into vigilantes in order to keep food on their tables

Thank you,

So far, Dorothy, I haven't rec'd a reply.

I also wrote to 11 other senators...Bramble and Valentine among them. Quite a revealing reply you received! You go, girl!!!
