Big Meeting Tonight: Ogden-Weber State University Transit Project Study Open House - Updated

Tonight's meeting provides an ideal chance for Ogden lumpenitizens to finally and forcefully throw in your own 2¢.

As a followup to Friday's Ogden Streetcar topical heads-up, here's a dunning reminder of this evening's special community event, whereby all Ogden residents are invited to "join UTA representatives, project partners and local officials at an open house to kick off the Ogden-Weber State University Transit Project Study":

Ogden Streetcar fanciers have been craving an Ogden Streetcar System since as far back as 2005.

Tonight's meeting provides an ideal chance for Ogden lumpenitizens to finally and forcefully throw in your own 2¢.

We thus urge all streetcar proponents to mark your calenders and be in attendance.

Update 6/27/14 9:00 a.m.:  Better late than never, the Standard-Examiner provides a post meeting report concerningWednesday's UTA Open House:
"By the end of this year, Ogden should have a pretty good idea of what the future of transit will look like in the city," the SE's Mitch Shaw reports.

There was never really any doubt in my mind that it wouldn't be approved, regardless of what the press was saying about the issue

Mayor Caldwell has spent much of his time as mayor talking about riding his bicycle to work. Perhaps he could spend a similar amount of time riding public transportation.. He would have a better grasp of the many problems that people who rely on public transportation face on a daily basis.. Subjects such as high fares, limited operational hours and ever changing schedules. These are the real problems facing people who use UTA. He could address the erractic and ever changing schedules and routes. He could address the higher rider costs.I would also be curious as to how many of the UTA representatives used public transportation to attend the meeting.
