Ogden Parking Enforcement Officer Hassles an Ogden City Lumpencitizen

Sodden Question:  Are there any other Ogden Lumpenitizens who are having problems with our "roving and officious" Ogden City "Parking Enforcement Cops?"

While we're busy discussing the topic of recent possible Ogden City official misbehavior, here's an eye-opening video brought to our attention by one of our online WCF pals:

We'll post this video without comment, except to ask:  "Are there any other Ogden Lumpenitizens who are having similar problems with our "roving and officious" Ogden City "Parking Enforcement Cops?"

Thanx in advance, folks.

WOW!  Maybe we should issue him a trespassing ticket for using people's driveways to turnaround!  As Barney Fife would say "citizens arrest, citizens arrest"....

The officer shown in the video is doing a very important job for Ogden city. Raising revenue.

This illustrates the attitude of a lot of cops - they are arrogant people who go into law enforcement so people with have to kiss their butts.

They are a stain on the uniform.  They should be ferreted out and fired.  The other (good) cops should be reminded they are there for one reason - to serve the public.

It's against the law (sarc) to have a camera on with Barney in the scene?  wt???...but its ok to have photocop radar guns?  Guess the rules are just for us little people eh?

According to the ACLU, "Taking photographs of things that are plainly visible from public
spaces is a constitutional right – and that includes federal buildings,
transportation facilities, and police and other government officials
carrying out their duties. Unfortunately, there is a widespread,
continuing pattern of law enforcement officers ordering people to stop
taking photographs from public places, and harassing, detaining and
arresting those who fail to comply."

While I worked downtown for a number of years. I received numerous tickets by Officer Clark. Many of the tickets I received were when I was parked in a 2 hour parking zone and not parked in that zone for 2 hours. 1 of the tickets I was at 1:50 minutes and was going to move my car and he was ticketing me. I told him I was moving my car, and he proceeded to tell me that since he had started writing the ticket he must finish, and it was too late... This guy is a real jerk!

Kind of like getting a ticket in MY driveway because the bumper of the truck was a little into the path of the sidewalk

I say cut him out of the budget, and put uniformed police in the neighborhood to answer complaints and learn the demographic.

Of course I can see this happening in Ogden.  Police up there abuse the system big time.  Since I moved away to the LA & Phoenix area.  This guy, would of by lost his job.  Because the city would be facing a major lawsuit.  And then he wants the camera put down.  Come on there's cameras everywhere and we have the legal right to film anything within reason.  This guy to some is generating money for the city.  Until someone like me who comes to visit and only if I run into this guy and I have done everything right.  Believe me I will sue the city of Ogden to get them to fire him.

Oh, but we can have a blimp right over our house filming at will....  man, I tell ya, it's 1933 all over again

This guy also harassed my 70 year old mother at
the 36th street trailhead.  He literally chased her up the trail and
accused her of being an illegally parked student.

At the same time, one block away from the video
shown, there was a house set up as a brothel and selling drugs.  The Ogden police were called many times by
residents of the street but they  never
stopped it.  At least the Johns were
parked correctly.

The blimp flying overhead would have made finding illlegal parking so much easier. Add a remote license plate scanner and the city could make lots of extra revenue.
