Godfrey and Reid Cash in With a Brand-new Business

Godfrey and Reid line up to "make hay"

Hey folks! Do you reside in a Utah community with a slightly embarrassing downtown retail area? Are you a small-town city official who's concerned that,"you know what we mean," that your town features some things definitely VERY embarrassing vistas, like a boring Main Street "style retail area" like this?
Thanks to a solid tip from yet another sharp-eyed and alert WCF reader, we're now in possession of some truly dynamite-like info about which we're just "champin' at the bit" to reveal...

Okay, here it is. Here's a link to Matthew Godfrey's new Miracle Business Consultation Website, wherein Ogden's little Ogden City Mayoral "shite" tries to cash in on his "lessons learned," whilst having screwed over the citizens of Ogden City for twelve friggin' years:
And here's the added bonus if you sign up for Godfrey's "miracle" consultation site:

As night ineluctably follows the day, it seems Godfrey's old pal and mentor, the well-connected and politically powerful Senator Stuart Reid, is officially on Godfrey's payroll, according to Godfrey's website, apparently meaning that Godfrey's saying that "you can get anything you want," including a bought-and-paid-for Utah State Senator like Reid, at Matthew Godfrey's new "political consulting company."

In light of the history of Hizzonah's River Project, perhaps the new company's slogan could be "Vacant Lots 'R Us."

Happy as I am that Godfrey and Reid are the first in Utah to get together to finally propose  "paid for " legislative favors, I'm wondering whether they'll soon be releasing a price list.  I'm wondering how much it'll cost, for instance, to allow me to legally have sex with my new 16-year old girlfriend.

is this the same Mayor Matthew Godfrey who tried to convince the City Council to fund an additional floor on the Wells Fargo building?  The same Godfrey who assured all that additional tenants were anxious to rent the additional space? The same matthew Godfrey who touted the many advantages of having your business located in downtown Ogden? The same Matthew Godfrey who located his business at 38th and Harrison boulevard?

Yep The Same One said...

The same Mayor Matthew Godfrey that stuck Ogden taxpayers for 26 years paying $650K per year for a day-glo Bowling alley?  The same Matthew Godfrey who killed a whole functional neighborhood surrounding the Ogden River, and gave us instead a persistent firetrap, and a River Project that will never break even for another 30 years?  Yep; I believe that's tha same onj.

The Ashton Square condo's of Reid's were a huge hit too.

Is This Legal? said...

Concerning Senator Reid, here's the verbiage from Godfrey's American Municipal Consultants website:

"Stuart presently serves as a Utah State Senator. He serves on 11 senate standing, appropriations, and interim committees. Because of his strong background in economic development he has been appointed to serve as the chair of the Economic Development and Workforce Service Standing Committee and on the Business, Economic Development and Labor Appropriations Committee."

If Godfrey and Reid aren't shamefully peddling Utah State Senate influence, exactly what are they peddling?

Is this even legal?

This is Utah. So it most probably is completely legal. If not, I'm sure the Legislature will quickly pass a law to make it so.

remember laws were only made for the democrats, by the way what did Godfrey do with all the campaign money that he had left over from the 07 race?

New Topic: Rolly: The Two Faces of Judge Dee Benson....
Following up on previous discussion here regarding Judge Bensons sentencing of the Brigham drug docter read Rollys column today on the many flip/flops of Judge Benson.  Heres the link: http://www.sltrib.com/columnists/rolly
I've had mixed feeling on mandatory sentencing laws but given this judges history I'm glad they are on the books.
