How George Bush has destroyed the US dollar
Are there any amongst our Weber County Forum readers who believe the US economy is in more dire straights than the media has told us about? Has anyone noticed that the Fed lowered interest rates a record 1.25 points within the past month, thus ultimately further flaming US inflation? Has anyone here noticed that inflation is already running amuk in America, especially for those who've been buying gasoline and groceries lately?
We have a great article that's been floating around stock investor circles on the web for the past few days.
Your blogmeister decided to post it here, after it finally cropped up in one of his most favorite, conservative and reliable investment newsletters (the Russell Report) a couple of days ago:
How Bush Destroyed the Dollar -- The Profile of a Third World Country
Read it and weep, people.
Comments, anyone?

But... but... but... how can this be? Didn't Your Party assure us eight years ago, and again four years ago, that in G. W. Bush we were getting "a CEO president" who knew how to meet a payroll and run a business? A man who was a fiscal conservative? Surely you don't mean to suggest that the Congressional Republican Party, including our very own Rob Bishop, and the state Republican Party were (a)not telling us the truth or (b) didn't know their ass from their elbow about the economy or how it works or should? Besides, didn't Your Party assure us that Supply Side Economics could not fail, and that by massively lowering taxes, we would inevitably vastly increase government revenues? [Which of course, didn't happen.]
Said it before. Will say it again: You're in the wrong party, Rudi.
Sadly, it's been a long time, Curmudgeon, since any paleo-rupublican considered neoCON George Bush one of our kind.
Ditto Rudi !
As much as I despise the moronic george Bush, this represents the culmination of 3 decades of conservative fantasy propped up and enabled by their advasaries caving in on all their basic ideological foundations. Sadly, there's no one available to put the general populations interests first.
As for the pathetic ex school teacher from Box Elder; he doesn't realize that carrot is as far away from his nose as it is mine and yours. Excepting ifn' he can keep his new job long enough to realize the added benifits of his service to the special interests he now serves by virtue of his joining the ruling class.
Get down to your local coin dealer and buy GOLD.
We ain't seen nothin' yet.
Did it allllllllllllll by himself...yup!!
Well we knew it was coming, so the WOW (Wal-Mart On Wall) is final exposed. I hope the gondola can deliver workers to this fine Chinese establishment.
Will all the small businesses that supported the administration in the election be pleased when the low prices at WOW drive them out of business? Will the restauramts on 25th be able to compete with Iggy's and other chain eateries? I hope so, since my friends and family enjoy the uniqueness of Ogden. I encourage readers to attend any planning meetings if you are opposed to big box retailers! It isn't too late to be heard. Downtown does need a grocery store, but a Kent's or a Harmons would have more appeal to the hometown locals, not just those who recently moved here to make a profit on our uniqueness.
On a not unrelated matter, McClatchy News has a story up this morning, discussing how, historically, businessmen presidents have done in office. It concludes that knowing how to run a business successfully generally has not translated into successful presidencies: the story can be found here.
