Fascinating development in the ever-enthralling John Swallow Three-ring Circus, as Utah Political Capitol and the Salt Lake Tribune report the blockbuster "breaking" news that surprise of surprises, federal prosecutors may be soon "bailing out" on their investigation and prospective prosecution of our beleaguered Utah Attorney General. That's what Swallow's lawyer says, at least:
- BREAKING: John Swallow Could Be Cleared By Feds Next Week
- Swallow’s lawyer expects feds to clear his client — maybe soon
As an added bonus, check out last night's ABC4 video segment, wherein Utah Political Capitol's managing editor, Eric Ethington, discussed "The Meaning of All This," if the Department of Justice (DOJ) decides not to prosecute Utah Republican Attorney General John Swallow.:
It gets interestinger and interestinger, NO?

It's totally political. even though there's a clear-cut Case, according to the FBI, it stands to reason that Eric Holder, and his Justice Department (so called) will just let this investigation...slide.
It stands to reason...? Just what reason would that be?
If all else fails, bob, try logic.
If you don't have a reason, just say so.
If you don't comprehend the problem without having me hold your hand, Bob, I pity you.
Plese explain to those of us mere mortals who lack your understanding and deep insight in the investigation why it will be dismissed.
My client is innocent of all charges
Correction. Mr. snow's client is innocent of all charges.
oh the "smugness" of it all !
I can only see the Feds backing off this issue for two reasons. #1. The feds don't have enough evidence to win a case. Swallow may be morally bankrupt but beyond that there isn't enough criminal juice to justify the squeeze or #2...where this trail leads is not where the Feds (Holder in particular) wish to follow (or were told not to)...Democratic Senator Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader. I can't imagine that Holder would pass up a chance to have the head of the AG on a pike from the reddest of states for any other reason. I smell just a very faint hint of smoke.
Mr. Snow is facing not only possible criminal charges but also breaches of Utah bar policies and ethics along with violations of campign finance reporting requirements. Whatever the outcome Mr. Snow is effectively finished in Utah politics
I'll go for door #2.
