This is a message from the Littrell family:
We are saddened by the passing of a great woman, our mother, Dorothy E. Littrell.
She passed on Wednesday morning at 2:28a.m.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 1:00pm, at Leavitt's mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403 (801) 394-5556.
Her obituary will be published in the Ogden Standard Examiner on Sunday, July 10 and Sunday July 17.
We realize that an e-mail may seem impersonal, but given the number of friends and contacts she had, individual contact would be very cumbersome.
We thank all of you for being her friends. She will be sorely missed.
Love to all,
Paul, Molly and family.
Update 7/10/11 9:00 a.m.: The Standard-Examiner carries Dorothy's obituary this morning:

Rest in peace Dorothy
We aren't likely to see another like you.
Godfreyites are dancing
Truth seekers are weeping
and the world has lost a great warrior.
I'm grateful to Dorothy for calling attention to the suspicious transactions involving the American Can Building and the Ogden Community Foundation. To this day, nobody has figured out quite exactly what happened. Perhaps eventually someone will.
I will miss Dorothy's work in our community.
Gosh, it's a loss to see these people go.
But that's the nature of things.
Oh, and in my opinion, "The Great Unknown" is neither of those things.
Nice of the poster to alter the actual verbiage of the original message, it would have been cumbersome to try to contact well over 100 people. Not sure if this was an insensitive attempt at humor, or just stupidity.
Should have seen her when I read her the Saturday article on John Patterson's Casper, WY City Manager job. She was trying to get out of bed to go find him. She'd have put off passing until she kicked his ass.
