The WSU Wildcats are back on the road this weekend, where they'll be meeting up this afternoon at 5:00 p.m. (MT), with Big Sky Conference rival Eastern Washington U, on the Eagles' butt-ugly home "turf." Kinda makes your eyes bleed, dunnit?
Roos Field, Cheney, WA |
- QB Adamczyk leaves WSU football program
- Sears wants ‘W’ as souvenir of Cheney
- Wildcats could use a spark to save season
Looking at the Vegas odds, however, we find that our WSU Wildcats are (surprise of surprises) 30-point underdogs, Uh-oh!

Remember, folks. With Weber State only one game outta first place, and with another seven games remaining to go, there's still ample opportunity for our Wildcats to get the football program back on track.
Right, Folks?
Repeat after me: Go Wildcats!
Update 10/5/13 8:14 p.m.: Whatabummer. Our WSU Wildcats fall to the EWU Eagles, by a score of 41-19. Lookin' at the bright side however, WSU scored more points tonight than in the last three games, which is a victory of sorts, don'tcha think? And as an added consolation, the "Cats did beat the spread.
Update 10/6/13 7:00 a.m.: Roy Burton's Post-game story describes last night's "stomping":

Sheesh! WSU is already down 13-0 in the first quarter. No problem, we hope...
TD Weber State! Unfortunately the kickker muffs the extra point. Nor to worry, WSU fans; it's all part of Coch Sears' game plan. EWU 13, WSU 6.
End of first quarter EWU 13, WSU 6...
Touchdown Eastern. WSU Still 6, EWU 20. Not to worry, people. Coach Sears' game plan calls for luring EWU into a sense of complacency, before the Wildcats "turn up the heat!"
TD WSU! The Wildcats muffed the two-point attempt, unfortunately. WSU down by eight points, with a little under 7 minutes left in the second quarter.
EWU scores again, with 4 minutes left in the 2d quarter bring the WU lead to 15 points after the PAT. No biggie, Wildcats fans. Coach Sears is obviously keeping his powder dry until the 2d half!
And now it's halftime, with Eastern leading by a measly 27-12. Bring on the Dancin' Girls, we say!
Apparently the WSU game plan is to lure EWU into complacency and overconfidence and then score quickly and often.
Exactly right, BR!
WSU cleverly allows Eastern to score again, bringing the EWU lead to a measly 22 points, and thus lures EWU into further "overconfidence and compacency," thereby setting the stage for a Giant Wildcats 4th Quarter!
Eastern scores again, with 26 seconds, bringing their lead to 41-12, thus increasing EWU "overconfidence and complacency" to self-damaging and dangerous new levels
Okay. WSU finally scores a TD and PAT early in the 4th stanza, closing in on Coach Sears' "overconfidence and complacency tactic," thus springing the trap for WSU's well-planned 4th quarter points blitz!
Yesiree, Rudy. Coach Sears has the Eagles exactly where he wants them, LOL!
