Nice if more people could make it out to the game next time

The Wildcats put a beat down on #3 ranked (in the FCS poll) Montana. It's the first time in 10 years that The 'Cats have beaten Montana! Coach Mac's kids are looking pretty good this year. Next home game is Northern Colorado on the 18th. Be nice if more people could make it out to the game to cheer these kids on. The tickets are pretty cheap.

On another sports note, (grab the antacids, Mr. Curmudgeon) the announcers doing the Dodger game on Friday mentioned that the kid pitching the 7th inning is Cory Wade from Ogden, Utah. The Dodgers have a 2 game lead on the Cubbies and a 2 run lead in the top of the 2nd.

O-Town:

I was going, O, until I stepped out the door into a cold rain that didn't look like it was going to quit any time soon. My days of being willing to sit in the rain to watch football ended about a quarter century ago. Sad for WSU that what would have been I think a big crowd at a big game got tanked by the weather. Hell of a game. They didn't just win, they whupped 'em.

OK, one more time. Take notes this time please. The team you inexplicably seem to think I am interested in is the Los Angeles National League Baseball Organization. It is not the Dodgers. The Dodgers are in Brooklyn, like God intended, where they are lost in the BMT from which they shall someday emerge and return to their people, for verily I say unto you that of Ebbitts Field truly it is written, if we rebuild it, they will come.

And it is my fervent hope that Mr. Wade will someday pitch for a team that decent God-fearing people can root for in good conscience.

Just an update:

Weber State is ranked 22nd in the FCS Football top 25 poll today. Montana dropped to 12 after their loss to Weber State. The Big Sky Conference (whose offices are located in Downtown Ogden) has 4 teams ranked in the top 25 in their division. Not Bad!

BTW, the FCS is the Football Championship Subdivision, or what used to be the NCAA 1AA Football Division.
