How can it be that no one has mentioned the Ogden Xterra Event?
• Ogden Xterra event is off to the races with much growthHere's a quote, from Friday's Standard-Examiner's article:
About 4,000 to 5,000 people from 10 countries and 40 states are expected to attend the events, including about 1,100 competitors. For the past few years, the Ogden area has been the location for the outdoor competition, which includes mountain biking, trail running and swimming across Pineview Reservoir. That's good stuff, and should be generating "good ink," on Weber County Forum, and elsewhere.

Yup, it should. Kinda snuck up on me this year. Didn't see much advance publicity.
All for it. Hell, anything helps Ogden establish a reputation as a fun place to be, and even as a post-event --- or apre's ski --- party town is fine with me. And clearly, the bigger the event, the bigger the party.
XTERRA was a catch for Ogden [and yes, Hizzonah gets credit for this one]. Hope all involved have a rip-roarin' good time.
I have participated in this event every year I've been here.
Sadly, I'm not going this year; the running race organizers have had difficulty scheduling the usual "Striders 7" trail-to-city race, and Mrs. Monotreme and I have pressing business elsewhere.
I agree that it's a good and fun event for Ogden. I hope to see everyone there at future events. Truly worthy of everyone's support.
I hadn't heard about until yesterday when I went up to Snowbasin to pick up my ski pass.
Maybe they could post a sandwich board advertisement on Harrison Ave!!!
Didn't go either due to lack of the Strider's 7. Races/things to do elsewhere.
