Utes 25; Wolverines 23

Utah upsets Michigan at home
The Utes put the game on ice early; then play solid defense for a big upset win

From the Salt Lake Tribune (two minutes ago):
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Utah football team opened its season with an upset road win at Michigan on Saturday.
The Utes had a 22-10 halftime lead and a 25-10 lead at the start of the fourth quarter. But the Wolverines scored two touchdowns and trailed 25-23 after missing a two-point conversion.
Then the Utah defense reasserted its dominance. The Utes stopped Michigan inside its own 20 with less than two minutes to play, getting a turnover on downs. Utah proceeded to essentially run out the clock.
Watch out, Cougars... the Utes are back on track. BCS Bowling, here we come. This Johnson kid is starting to look like a real quarterback. Louie Sakoda is definitely NFL-bound: four field goals today; one from 53 yards! And what a killer defense.

And what say our fellow Utah grads & fans about all this?

What say you, Jason W?

Rudi, Rudi, Rudi... you are so biased. Why, you've ignored BYU's stunning upset of perennial powerhouse Northern Iowa today! And did you give a nod to the BYU sports program for having the cojones to open their season against such a gridiron powerhouse? No. Not a word. For shame! Instead, just applause for the U. eking out a win against one of those little teams from the Big Ten. Shame on you.

Thank you, Rudi. I checked in due to the Utes' win, even though we were Homered by the refs like NC @ Duke. No worries, a win is a win.

THE SKI IS BEAUTIFUL BLUE

We'll let you have Michigan when it doesn't matter and leave BYU with the two last minute wins in the last two years, a two-year unbeaten conference winning streak and not to mention that win over Michigan to win a national title.

Let's see, a fifth place in the big 10 Michigan team, they were 6&5 I believe, after playing nobody but their patsy regular old lavel edwards schedule, and you claim a national championship.
I hear this year Marie Ozmond is playing nose tackle for the blue wimps this year.
Face it Carp, BYU sucks, always has, always will.
Oh and Carp, Switzers Sooners would have killed them that year.

Let's see what record Michigan has this year and then we will decide how "memorable" this win was and how memorable BYU's win was. BTW, Harline is still open!

Carp, hopefully the coaching staff has heard enough about how stupid their strategy was, and that had they used any common sense that outcome would never have happened.
